Montevideo: Taste of a Dream (2010), ranked fifth, is also about the same soccer team’s complicated journey. Lastly, Gregory’s Girl (1981), tied for third, is about a boy who has a crush on a very good soccer player and the power the girls’ soccer team has in school. Females have the power in the movie, adding a feminist layer to the film. Through film, soccer gives an interesting perspective on socio-political issues.
